Mrs. Kim Lanay Duncan Palmer was born May 7, 1964 in Winston-Salem, NC. Her life ended on April 19, 2012 when she went home to be with the Lord following a period of illness.
Kim graduated from Reynolds High School. She later attended Salem College and Brookstone Business School. She was employed as a substitute teacher in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System.
Kim attended New Jerusalem Baptist Church before poor health prevailed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gentry Palmer; and her brother, Richard Duncan.
Survivors include her son, Brandon Sloan; her daughter, Kayla Jones; her mother, Delois Watson (Charles); her father, Alfonzo Johnson (Elvenia); her brothers, Alfonzo Duncan (Stephanie), and Anthony Johnson (Catrina); her sisters, Darlene Williams (Marcus), Diana Gaither (Ronald), Vanessa Perrin, Shelia Campbell (Billie), Renee Melton (Chowan), Angela Boyd, and Tanya Brown (Larry); and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Homegoing services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, April 26, 2012 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church with Rev. Samuel Cornelius officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Forsyth Cancer Center, KBR Hospice and Palliative Care, and the 9th Floor at Forsyth Medical Center.
