Mr. Kevin Lamont White, aka "Po-Pie" of 2004 Bloomfield Dr. was born January 2, 1965 in Winston-Salem, NC to Floyd and Wilma Moore. Kevin was a loving and caring individual who touched the lives of many. He was very outgoing and well known for doing community service activities. He graduated from Parkland Sr. High in 1985. He attended Johnson C. Smith University on a football scholarship. After 2 ½ years at JCSU, Kevin decided to transfer to Savannah State. Being the individual he was, Kevin decided to come back home and take care of his parents.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd L. Moore on June 4, 2010.
Kevin leaves behind his mother, Wilma Ann Moore; two brothers, Saladeen Fsadi El "Teddy" and wife Ruth Sadi El, and Hulin Garrett "Bunny" and wife Justina Garrett; a loving sister, Lita A. White; two nieces, Demika Minor and Brittani White; one nephew, Hulin Garrett, Jr.; a devoted number of life-long friends, Jerome Witherspoon, Mario Patterson "Roe", Brian Jones "BJ", Chris Fletcher, Bobby, Jr., Patrick Green, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Annie Dalton officiating. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Saturday at the Church.
