Unbeknownst to his loved ones, the Lord whispered for Kevin Lenard Conrad, Sr. to come on home early Tuesday morning, March 8, 2016 just a few days shy of his 45th birthday. He was born March 11, 1971.

At an early age, Kevin accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at St. Mark Baptist Church. He was a 1989 graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School.

After graduation, he joined the United States Navy, serving a total of four years and eight months, stationed in Norfolk, VA on USS Nassau Aircraft Carrier.

During his tenure he earned the following awards/ribbons/ medals: National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, Southwest Asia Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Stars, Battle 'E' Award, Combat Action Ribbon, and Kuwaiti Liberation Medal.

Kevin was genuinely funny and ensured everyone that encountered him leave with a smile on his or her face. He loved his family, his nieces and nephews, his childhood friends, his brothers from the Navy, and especially his pride and joy, his "baby boy" Kevin Jr.

Kevin was preceded in death by his loving mother, Florence Conrad; and loving sister, Joann Bush.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Kevin L. Conrad, Jr.; his lovely granddaughter, Kaylei D. Hearts; loving sisters, Willette Wilson, Tanya, Jackie, Jannifer, Quanda Conrad, and Millicent Caldwell; loving brothers, Michael (Sylvia), Tyrone (Betty), Kenneth, and Reginald Conrad. Kevin's loving and precious memories will always remain in the hearts of his many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and many friends, including a very dedicated friend, Tanita Wright.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, March 14, 2016 at Union Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Monday at the Church.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the Conrad Residence, 1009 Row Street, Winston-Salem NC 27127
