Kevin Vernard Banner, affectionately known as "KB", was born in Winston-Salem, NC on May 15, 1963 to Vernon and Lillian Banner. He departed this life on October 3, 2016.

Kevin attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and was a 1981 graduate of North Forsyth High School.
He was employed at Aigis Mechtronics from 1995 until 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Payne; grandparents, Elmer and Valine Banner and Dave and Katie Payne.

"KB" is survived by and leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Kimberly Banner; three children, Nakisha Beasley, Jamayal (Kerry) Beasley, and LeBrandon (Leigha) Banner; three grandchildren, Brayden Beasley, LeBrandon, Jr. and Liam Banner; three sisters, Beverly (Donnell) McDaniel, Tina and Lynn Banner; three brothers, Waddell (Vicky) Boyd, Ricky and Toma (Monica) Banner all of the city; four sisters-in-law, Beverly (Wendell) Halsey, Toni People, Bridgette (Sonny) Roberson, and Anna Payne, all of the city; two brothers-in-law, Vincent Daniels and Samuel Cureton of the city; two uncles, Karl (Bobbietta) Payne and Kenneth (Ann) Banner of Greensboro, NC; eight aunts, Sharyn Caldwell, Beverly (Roger) Whisett, Kathy (Richard) Woods, Jackie (Jay) Payne-Brooks, Sophia (Thomas) Payne-Drake, Katriina Payne, and Ida Duncan of the city and Vivian Smith-Payne of Florida; two great aunts, Edith Payne of the city and Irene Kirkland of Washington, DC; three devoted friends, Robert Mack, Eric Claggett, and CW Johnson; and a grand host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Friday, October 7, 2016 at Greater Cleveland Avenue Christian Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Friday at the Church.
