Trustee Kerry Marcellus Wade departed this life on Thursday, September 8, 2022, in Winston-Salem, NC, after a period of illness. He was a graduate of West Forsyth Senior High School. He obtained his Associate Degree in Fashion Merchandising Management from Rutledge Community College. During college, he formed the K&M Modeling Company.
He was a former employee of the City of Winston-Salem Water Utilities, Aramark Food Company, and United Dry Goods. He was a faithful member of Macedonia Worship Center until his health failed, serving as a member of the Trustee Board.
Kerry was known for being a great caregiver to his mother. He loved fashion and kept both him and his mother dressed impeccably every time they showed up for worship.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Patricia Covington Wade; his father, John Wilson Mason; his brother, Michael L. Wade; maternal grandparents, Eller and Odessa Covington; and aunts, Lee Esther Wright and Delray Smith Cox.
He is survived by his devoted cousin, Rita Smith Oti; spiritual daughter, Resha (Christopher) Williams; his siblings, John E. Mason, Wanda J. Mason, Willie J. Mason, Patrick J. (Robin), and Debra Mason (Willie) Brown; godson, Kedron Bullock; cousins, Katrina (Stevie) Bullock, Brian (Kim) Smith, Marcus (Ashely) Smith, and Monnette Smith; his close friends, Pamela Lindsay and James T. Barber; and a host of other family and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, September 23, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Macedonia Worship Center. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
