Obituary

Kennine Doblas Pollard, 58, of Winston-Salem, NC was born to Paul and Yvonne Doblas in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on June 6, 1965. Kennine was educated from elementary to high school in Irvington, New Jersey.  She later attended Essex County Community College and Summerset to further her education in nursing studies.  She later joined the US Army in 1986 as a patient administration specialist.  She earned her marksman badge with M16 rifle, and expert hand grenade badge.  Kennine later served with the 120th medical detachment overseas in Germany for 2.5 years.  She was honorably discharged from the Army in 1990.  She worked as a nurse in several capacities in Florida's correctional facilities and nursing homes.  She moved to Winston-Salem in 2005 and continued her nursing career at Forsyth Medical Center in the behavioral health unit, then later as a private pediatric nurse for Bayada and Thrive health agencies.

Kennine was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Pollard; her father, Paul S. Doblas; and her brother, Paul L. Doblas.

She is survived by her sons, Mark A. Pollard, Jr. and Jordan Pollard; her one and only grandson, Marcus-James "MJ" (Ashley) Pollard; her mother, Yvonne; sisters, Marie, Mirlene (Bobby), Yveline (Curvy), Sheila, Judith, Sonja, Mishna, and Florence; brothers, Paul K., Randy, and Rochard; a host of nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends; Kennine also leaves behind "her babies" as she affectionately referred to the many children she cared for and was a nurse to, along with their family members whom she loved so much as they loved her.  Kennine cared with her whole heart, she loved and gave to whomever was in need.  Kennine will be missed and she will forever be in our hearts.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  Inurnment will be held at 1:00pm Monday, January 29, 2024 in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
