Kenneth Lanard Cole Sr., aka "Peanut Nowlin", was born on August 16, 1960 in Richmond, VA to the late Lester Cole Sr. and Barbara Nowlin. On Tuesday, February 12, 2013, Kenneth Cole Sr. was called to his heavenly home while at Wake Forest Baptist Health.

Kenneth grew up in W-S, and graduated from Parkland High School. He worked for DAT'S Good Food restaurant and was a faithful member of Ardmore United Methodist Church. He was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mom, Barbara Nowlin; step-mother, Pauline Cole; his five children, Jerrell Morgan, Keyona Stone, Kenneth (Chondra) Cole Jr., Kennard Stone, and Kenneth Cole III; grandchildren, Mason Morgan, Ja'vion Cole, Janiya Cole, and Ja'Naiz Cole; brothers and sisters, Belvia Nowlin, Willie Nowlin, Sharon Nowlin, Lester (Henrietta) Nowlin, Diane Wilson, Ronald Nowlin, Vanessa (Anthony) Westberry, and Roslyn (Irvin) Payne; God-daughters, Lillian Grier and Malajae Hendrix; devoted nieces and nephews, Renee' (Ernest) White, David Cole, Shameka (Curtis) Friday, Roshaunda (Melvin) Breeden, Terrence Westberry and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Ardmore United Methodist Church with Pastor Jock Ollis officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
The family will receive visitors and friends at the home of his sister, Vanessa (Anthony) Westberry at 3508 La Casa Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC.
