Kelvin Crews Wharton, of Mocksville, NC departed this life on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home following a period of illness. He was born to William and Waltina Wharton, and was a native of Winston-Salem, NC.
Kelvin received his education at Davie County Schools and N.C. School of the Arts.
Kelvin was employed in the Health Care Services field.
Kelvin was a member of the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the following ministries; Nurses Ministry, Spiritual Choir, Galilean Choral Ensemble, Bereavement Ministry, and the Evangelism Ministry. He was also a Church Administrative Office volunteer.
Kelvin was preceded in death by his twin brother, Keith, and his grandparents.
He is survived by his parents of the home; three brothers, Billy (Michelle) Wharton of Farmington, NC; Joe Hoover and Harold Hoover of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Joanne Hughes and Patricia Wharton of Winston-Salem, NC; Lisa (Bryant) Smoot of Mocksville, NC; two uncles, Clint (Joyce) Wharton of East Bend, NC and Richard Wharton of Norfolk, VA; devoted cousins Bernard, Christine, and Towanna Van Eaton of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, August 18, 2008 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Nathan Scovens officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00am until 12 Noon at the Church.
