Keith LeRoy Cochrane, Sr. earned his heavenly wings in Winston- Salem, NC on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 after an extended period of illness. Keith was born in New York on June 17, 1946 to Carl Leonard Cochrane and Blanche Elita Cochrane.
Keith was educated in New York public school system, he graduated from high school before receiving a "token" drafting him into the US Army. He served 2 years in Vietnam. While in the service, he married his sweetheart, Barbara Marrimon and of that union 3 children were born, Keith L. Cochrane, Jr (Darlene), Keisha (Mike), and Tamika.
Keith received an honorable discharge from the US Army and began a career with General Dynamics. Keith loved working with his hands and learning, he was proud to say his older brother Dario taught him the jewelry/watch repair business and enjoyed working with him. The knowledge he possessed was parallel to an encyclopedia/wikipedia.
Keith had an outgoing and warm personality. His infectious smile, gift of gab and quick wit endeared him to many people. Keith knew no strangers; he had many friends ~ he had his own unselfish way of helping and serving others.
Keith loved family, the Lord and the Word ; he could go on and on quoting and discussing scriptures and practical application of them. Spending time with family, playing cards, teaching and preaching were his favorite pass time – Dropping knowledge with the quickness , Truest words, I promise you!
Keith was preceded in death by his wife (Barbara Cochrane), father (Carl Leonard Cochrane), mother (Blanche E. Cochrane), brothers (Carl Cochrane, Jr., Robert Weymouth Cochrane, Enrico Cochrane) and sister (Everisa Denyce Scott).
Keith is survived by 4 brothers, 3 sisters, host of children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. All cherishing his memories and tasked with following his footprints.
Private funeral services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2020. Private Interment will be held Monday, April 20, 2020 in Salisbury National Cemetery.
