Mrs. Katie Arnold Boulware, 88, of 825 N. Cameron Ave. W-S, NC, the daughter of the late Mr. Joe Arnold and Mrs. Mary Arnold, and widow of Marshall T. Boulware, Sr., passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center following a brief period of illness.
She was born in Asheville, NC but spent most of her life in Winston-Salem, NC. She attended the public schools and graduated from Winston-Salem Teachers College, now known as Winston-Salem State University. She went on to teach school in the state of Virginia for a short while before moving back to Winston-Salem, NC. She was a retired employee of K. Mart Company and a member of Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church. At Goler, Mrs. Boulware was a member of the Cathedral Choir, the Pastor's Aide, the Home and Overseas Missionary Society, the President of the Willing Workers, and a participant of the Noonday Prayer Service. Mrs. Kate Arnold Boulware truly trusted in God and loved her Church.
Mrs. Boulware leaves to cherish many memories her two wonderful, loving sons, Marshall T. (Barbara) Boulware, Jr. and Quinton Wardell (Deborah) Boulware; one loving and devoted daughter, Linda B. (Paul) Cloud all of the city; she was the proud grandmother of three adoring and loving grandchildren, Michelle Cloud of Atlanta, GA, Demaris Boulware and Quinton Boulware both of the city; one sister, Mary Lee Johnson and sister-in-law, Billie Jean (Thurmond) Ford all of the city; nephew, Joe (Linda) Johnson; nieces, Mary Linda (David) Fergusson, Angela R. Baker, and Jean G. Miller; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church with Rev. Dr. Johnny Ruff officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Thursday at the Church.
