Katara Reid was born on July 6, 1978 to Clayton and Naomi Reid. Katara attended and graduated from Carter Vocational  High School in 1999 where she was homecoming Queen and a member of the cheerleading squad. After graduation, she attended Forsyth Tech/Goodwill Industries program. Prior to her failing health, Katara attended a daily social program with her friends. Katara was a faithful member at Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church.

Her favorite song was Jesus Loves Me This I Know and her favorite bible verse John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whomsoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Katara loved everyone she met. And everyone loved her. Left to cherish her memory are her loving family and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, August 13, 2021 at Redeemed Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Walker officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Friday at the Church.
