Kanzenner "Candy" Roberson Wilks, 69, passed away on December 28, 2015 at Wake Forest Baptist Health.

Candy was born in Winston Salem, NC to the late Willie P. "Son" Powell and Lila M. Rowell on June 14, 1946.

Candy always loved to help people. This innate sense propelled her into pursuing a career as a healthcare professional, where she held a variety of nursing positions in and around Winston-Salem.

In addition to her father, Candy was preceded in death by her stepmother, Ophelia P. Roberson; and an aunt, Louise B. Powell.
Candy is survived by her mother, Lila M. Rowell of Winston Salem, NC; two sons, James S. "Jamie" Wilks, II of Atlanta, GA and Jerald K. "Jerry" Wilks (Danielle) of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren, Jacob C. Wilks and Niazja D. Blackmon of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Annette Connelly of Winston Salem, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, January 4, 2016 at Goler Memorial AME Zion Church with Reverend Dr. George Banks officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the services from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Monday at the Church.
