June Donnell Warren
July 26, 1948 - June 18, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of June Donnell Wilson Warren, who left us peacefully on June 18, 2024, at the age of seventy - five, in Forsyth County, NC.
June was born on July 26, 1948, and was a proud graduate of Anderson High School, class of 1966. She dedicated her life to her family and her community, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and kindness.
June retired from Western Electric after twenty five years of service. After retirement she worked at Hanes Brand for sixteen years. She enjoyed working in the church and serving as a proctor for the WSFC School system. June loved line dancing, traveling with her husband, spending time with friends and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Juanita Wilson; her son, Monald Warren; and her brothers, Marion and Howard Bates.
She is survived by her beloved spouse of forty six years, Donnell Warren; her children, Jerome (Sodonnie) Warren, Melinda Warren, and Le'Var Warren; 10 cherished grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. June also leaves behind six sisters, Shirley (Bobby) Hairston, Gail (Antony) Farmer, Sandra (Roderic) Young, Mary (Johnny) Holley, Gladys Wilson (Enoch Carter) and Sherry Spurgeon O'Leary; one brother, Sam Wilson Jr; a special cousin, Linda (Larry) Richardson; and a host of nephews and nieces.
June will be remembered for her warm spirit, unwavering faith, and her dedication to those she loved. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, June 23, 2024 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2:00pm on Sunday at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church in her memory.
