Obituary

Judith Neal Conner, 74, passionately known as "Judy" was born January 7, 1952, to the late John Alton Neal and Edith Erline Neal in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.  With all powers in HIS hands, she slipped from her earthly realm into her eternal body on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care (Yadkinville, NC).

Judy was the oldest of 5 children, which consisted of one sister Joyce and three brothers Jon, Jeffrey, and Joel. She graduated from East Forsyth High School Eagles in 1970 and shortly after studied at Droughns Business College. Soon after her college experience, Judy relocated from Walnut Cove to Rural Hall in 1978 and excitedly joined the Wachovia Bank as an accountant for student loans where she graciously served for 20 years and transitioned to Centerpoint for 10 years.

Throughout her tenure, Judith Conner fervently excelled the artistry of crafting, knitting, sewing and baking all the while working and taking care of her family. She gifted her family and friends with their own authentic blankets and crafty needlepoint. She became a quiet, but profound member of New Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Kendall D. Jones where she accepted Christ as her personal Savior in 2007. She sat silently in the balcony with a smile on her face and a warm heart enjoying the service. Not only was Judy a profound woman of God, but also a caring daughter, a protective sister, the best Stepmother and grandmother and Heaven-Sent wife.

In addition to her parents, Judith was preceded in death by her husband for over 33 years, the love of her life, Mr. James Conner; niece, Amber Neal; great-granddaughter, A'Ziyah Bell; and granddaughter-in-law, Bridgette Teague.

Judith "Judy" Neal Conner leaves to cherish her loving memories her siblings, Joyce (Bo) Knight from the city, Jon (Denise) Neal of Greensboro, Jeffrey Neal and Joel (April) Neal of Walnut Cove; three stepchildren, Tamatha White of Kernersville, Shawn Marshall and Alicia Marshall of the city; three grandchildren, Terrez Teague, Shanise Sims and Shekinah Mack Bell (William); eight great-grandchildren, Brianna, Ariyonna, Olivia, Aubrey, Jayceon, Jasiah, Ailani and Elijah; one brother-in-law, Albert "T-Ball" (Veronica) Conner; devoted cousins, Joann McCarson, Gail Joyce, Sandy Jones (Gerald), and Michael Gibson; best friend, Charlene Bowen of Lexington; special friends, Carolyn White, Josephine Marshall, Odell Marshall, Sr. (Patricia), Freddie Lee Marshall, Sr. (Geraldine) and Gloria Hobson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 13, 2026 at New Bethel Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Friday at the Church.
