Mrs. Juanita Estes Wilson, 90, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born March 25, 1918 in Walnut Cove, NC to James and Maggie Estes.

Juanita was educated in the Stokes County School System where she was a member of the basketball team. She was an advocate fisher and retired from Hills Lexington BBQ after 25 years of service and later became a homemaker.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of Saint Andrews United Methodist Church where she served on the Women's Usher Board, United Methodist Women (UMW) Noon Day Prayer Group, and various other committees. She was a devoted member of the Happy Hill Garden Senior Citizens Club and an active member of the Morningside Community Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel Wilson, Sr.; a son, William Bates; one sister, Mary Ruth Wilson; and one brother, Howard Estes.

Surviving to cherish her loving memories are her seven daughters, Shirley (Walter, Sr.) Hairston, June (Donnell) Warren, Gail (Antony) Farmer, Sandra (Roderic, Sr.) Young, Mary (Johnnie) Holley, Gladys (Matthew Berry) Wilson all of Winston-Salem, NC and Sherry (Gerry) Oleary of Charlotte, NC; two sons, Howard Bates and Samuel (Cynthia) Wilson, Jr.; 34 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Rebecca Eller; a devoted niece, Linda Richardson; and a host of nieces and nephews all of Winston-Salem, NC.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm from the Saint Andrews United Methodist Church, 1840 Butler St. Winston-Salem, NC with Evangelist Sandra W. Young officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
