On Sunday, November 27, 2016 Mrs. Juanita Elizabeth Lane, 74, received her crown. Juanita was born on March 2, 1942 to the late William L. and Mildred B. Love. She attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Schools. She was employed by Wake Forest Baptist Health in the operating room where she retired after 30 years of service.

She was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Usher Board and the Debra Group until her health declined. Juanita was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars, Ruth Chapter 533 Ancient and Accepted Scottish Right where she was an Order of Easter Star Worthy Matron.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Sgt. James C. Lane, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Lindsay, Melanie Lane, Adrianne (Lovelle) McCollum, and Audrey Lane; one son, Gerald (Jackie) Lane all of Winston-Salem, NC; daughter-in-law, Helen Lane of Augusta, GA; 14 grandchildren including a devoted granddaughter, Lakeisha Lane; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Thomas, Debra Love, Diane (Bernard) Archie, Retta (Jerry) Edmonds, Etta Taylor, Sharon Taylor, and a very devoted sister, Crystal Love all of Winston-Salem, NC; brothers, Jessie (Valerie) Taylor and Cornel (Pam) Taylor of Winston-Salem, NC; one aunt, Allie Love; 3 nieces and 3 nephews; and a host of other loved ones and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Serenus T. Churn, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
