Mrs. Juanita Anderson Jones, 81 passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Germantown Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

Mrs. Jones was born May 16, 1927 in Davie County, NC to the late Eli J. Anderson. Sr. and Elease Davis Anderson. She was married to the late Ernest Davis Jones who preceded her in death on April 17, 1991. Deacon Ernest Jones was one of the co-founders of New Unity Missionary Baptist Church and served as Chairman of the Deacon Board until his death.

Mrs. Jones was also one the co-founders of New Unity where she was president of the Deaconess Board, a member of the Nurses Board and Sunday School.

She was employed with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for 27 years.

She is survived by her two children, a son, Ervin G. Jones of Philadelphia, PA; daughter Linda J. Martin of Winston-Salem, NC; a very special devoted friend, Virginia Branch, of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren Marc E. (Trina) Jones, Marcia D. (Emmitt) Ross, both of Philadelphia, PA; Juanka J. (Ricardo L.) Smith, and Nicole M. Martin (Ivan M. Washington), both of Winston-Salem, NC; twelve great-grandchildren, two brothers Lus A. and Eli J. Anderson, both of Fayetteville, NC; four sister-in-laws, Dorthy Anderson of Philadelphia, PA; Carrie J. Wilkerson of Lexington, NC; Della M. Jones and Ozena Clark, both of Mocksville, NC; three brother-in-laws, Melvin (Dorris) Jones, Robert A. (Mamie) Jones, and John Pruitt all of Mocksville, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives of friends.

Funeral service will be held at Noon, on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at New Unity Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Paul P. Thombs officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be held from 11:00am until Noon at the church.
