Our loving mother, Juanita Edna Blackburn Crouch was born June 29, 1930 in Pfafftown, North Carolina to the late William and Hattie Blackburn. On Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 6:02AM, our mother transitioned from this life into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Juanita was a graduate of Carver High School and attended Ohio University. She was a retiree of North Carolina Baptist Hospital and worked several years in the Pediatric Department.
She had a special love for the care of the children at the hospital and always tried to make them feel loved and kept a journal of her fond memories of her work in the Pediatric Department.
Juanita had a love for writing and beautifying the yard. She was a prim, proper and private lady with an infectious smile. She loved to laugh, dance and regularly attended church until her health failed. She never wanted anyone to embrace her pain, but she preferred rather to share a laugh with you. Juanita was loved by those who knew her. She had a love for her God and her family.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hattie Blackburn.
Leaving to cherish many loving memories are five children, Mrs. Brenda (James) Diggs, Minister Gwendolyn (Rev. Silas) Dervin, Jr., Mr. William (Michelle) Crouch, Ms. Janice Pearson and Mr. Bernard Crouch, all of Winston-Salem, NC; sister, Lorraine Roseborough; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, May 13, 2016 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Nathan Scovens officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Friday at the Church.
