Juanita Diane Sheppard Coleman succumbed to a weak heart and departed from this life on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the age of 67. She was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on December 5, 1950 to Charlie Marshall Sheppard and Susannah Nelson. She married her high school sweetheart while still in the 12th grade in 1968, and they have been inseparable for the last 50 years since she graduated from Atkins High School. Her husband's employer General Motors moved Juanita and family from Winston-Salem to Charlotte, North Carolina; Columbia, South Carolina; Memphis, Tennessee; Detroit, Michigan; and Pontiac, Michigan, where they have resided until she passed away.
Juanita was preceded in death by a brother, William Derwin; and a sister, Audrey Cockerham.
She is survived by her parents, Charlie Sheppard, Sr. and Susannah Sheppard; her brothers, Charlie Sheppard, Jr. (Patricia) and Timothy Sheppard; her sisters, Wanda Walker, Lillian (Gary) Walker, and Susan Sheppard; plus a distant nephew in Memphis, Tennessee, Waddell Sheppard; a distant cousin in Virginia, Andrew (Lisa) Wardlow; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. In Michigan, her memories will forever be treasured by her husband, David Coleman, Sr., and their children of whom she was very proud, David Coleman, Jr., Steven (Tatyanna)Coleman, Davena Coleman, and Andrew (Marquita) Coleman; she also adored her 10 grandchildren, Simone, Steve, Jr., Christopher, Cameron, Dallas, Andrew, Jr., James, Jeremiah, Aiden, and Malik.
She was "QTMC MOM", the matriarch of QTMC, Inc. Charity and CENTERSTAGE Rental Hall, Recording Studio, and Homeless Shelter. She and her family have fed, clothed, transported, and sheltered hundreds of needy and homeless persons for 21 years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at First Waughtown Baptist Church, 838 Moravia St. W-S, NC 27101 with Dr. Dennis Bishop, Senior Pastor; Minister Cynthia Dixon, Officiating; and Bishop Daniel Coleman of True Victory Minisry, Eulogist. The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Tuesday at the Church. The family will fellowship with friends at a repass following the services that will be held at Morning Star Baptist Church, 1400 Fitch St. W-S, NC 27107, Dr. Dennis Leach, Pastor.
