Obituary
Ms. Joyce Elaine Hayes of 2139 Douglas Hill Drive, Winston-Salem, NC passed away at her home on December 09, 2013.
Joyce was a native of Davidson County, where she lived most of her life before moving to Winston-Salem. She was a member of Gates of Zion Church in Midway, NC, attended school at North Davidson High in Welcome and also Livingston College in Salisbury, NC, and was employed with the City of Winston-Salem.
She was preceded in death by her father Russell Cleo Hayes, Sr.; two brothers, Harold Hayes, Sr. and Paul Oscar Hayes; and one sister, Patricia Ann Hayes.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother Lula Hayes of the home; three sisters, Louise Leonard of Midway, Pearlene and Wanda Lynn of the home; four brothers, Russell Hayes, Jr. of Lexington, Louis Hayes and Arthur Hayes of the home, and Johnny Hayes of Winston-Salem; three sisters-in-law; ten nephews; fourteen nieces; and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Gates of Zion Church, Midway, NC with Bishop Robert Melton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Gates of Zion Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Saturday at the Church.
