Obituary
Mrs. Joy W. Samuels, 38, went home to be with her Lord on January 3, 2012 after a heroic battle with cancer. She was born September 20, 1973 in Chapel Hill, NC to James and Sarah Weaver.
She was a graduate of Chapel Hill High School and received her BS in Education from East Carolina University and a MS in Education from Winston-Salem State University. She was employed by the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System.
Joy was a member of United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Marquese Samuels; sons, Jalen and Jordan Samuels; her parents, James and Sarah Weaver; sisters, Jamie Bethel, Jeannine Bratts, and Jessica Weaver; mother-in-law, Karen Samuels; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 5pm Monday, January 9, 2012 at United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Prince Raney Rivers officiating. The family visitation will be held from 4pm until 5pm on Monday at the Church.
