Obituary
Our beloved Mrs. Josie Hampton McCray, 97 departed this life peacefully Monday, March 24, 2008. She was born April 3, 1910 in Bamberg, SC to Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Hampton.
She moved to Winston-Salem, NC at an early age and worked for Forsyth Medical Center where she retired. She was a devoted member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Mrs. McCray was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chance McCray; one daughter, Josie McCray and her son, Hiawatha McCray.
Left to cherish her memories are two grandchildren, Larry (Debra) Williams and Carol Green; three great-grandchildren, Shameka Williams, Stanley Green, and Veronica Green; two step grandchildren, Diedre (Ron) Morgan and Vincent Brown; a devoted niece, Revnell Staley; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and many beloved friends.
Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday, March 29, 2008 from the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. C.E. Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until Noon on Saturday at the Church.
