Mrs. Josie B. Goodwin, 87, passed on November 3, 2013 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on January 26, 1926 in Chesterfield County, SC to the late Waddell Melton and Shady Mae Wolfe.
She was a graduate of the Chesterfield County School System and moved to Winston-Salem where she married the late, Willie Lee Goodwin. She was employed at Smith Cleaners.
Left to cherish her memories are two sisters, Diane M. Givens of Lancaster, SC and Joyce Melton of Alaska; sisters-in-law, Flora Melton and Eula Mae Goodwin of W-S, NC; eleven nieces, three nephews, and a host of cousins, great-nieces and nephews; a God-daughter, Doris Brown; and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Monday, November 11, 2013 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Monday at the Church.
