Joshua Phillip Fennell, 25, passed on July 24, 2015 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was born March 15, 1990 in Winston-Salem, NC, the son of Glenn and Toni Fennell. He graduated from Reynolds High School in 2008, was an Army Veteran of the 101st Airborne Division who proudly served in Afghanistan in artillery and air assault, and he was also an exquisite chef and graduate of culinary school.
Joshua was a noble young man with the kindest heart. His sense of humor was so refreshing and always perfectly on time. Among his greatest qualities was his perceptive, intuitive, and social nature.
He was able to touch the lives of many through his consideration, love and respect of all cultures and people. Joshua's character was unique. He loved to sing, he possessed a real sophistication, but most importantly he was honorable.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James A. Fennell.
Josh is survived by his parents, Glenn W. and Toni Y. Fennell of W-S, NC; his sister, Laren Callender; his brother, Nathan Fennell; paternal grandmother, Lauretta Fennell; maternal grandparents, George and Sarah Benton; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and close friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Saturday at the Chapel. Interment will be held at 2:00pm Monday, August 3, 2015 in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
