Ms. Josephine McDonald of 1552 Harding St., known to her friends as "Phine" went home to be with the Lord on June 20, 2014.
MS. McDonald attended the public schools here in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County. She was employed with K&W Cafeteria for 15 years. She was a member of Union Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Grady Nicholson; and her grandparents.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Lizzie Nicholson; father, Joseph Staten of Rockingham, NC; her sons, Dayton McDonald and Christopher McDonald both of the city; four sisters, Carrie (Robert) Patterson, Tina (Robert) Neely, Barbara (Reginald) Jeter of the city, and Debra (Clyde) Jones of Brooklyn, NY; two brothers, Ed Nicholson of the city and Grady Lee Nicholson, Jr. of Salisbury, NC; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, June 27, 2014 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Sir Walter Mack, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Friday at the Church.
