Joseph McManus, also known as "Bunchie", 71, gained his heavenly wings on October 25, 2015. Joseph was born June 6, 1944 in W-S, NC to Otha and Lugene McManus.

Joseph served in the US Army from 1966-1968, retired from RJ Reynolds after 30 years of service, and later worked for the W-S/Forsyth County School System for 18 plus years. He was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church for over 10 years where he participated on the male chorus.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Odessa McManus; and his grandson, Joshua Brooks.

Joseph is survived by his fiance', Bretta Rorie of Stone Mountain, GA; two sons, Joseph Brooks and Dathron (Sabrina) Jones; one daughter, Tatia Brooks all of W-S, NC; grandchildren, Joseph (Kendra) Brooks, II, Chrisma Blackburn, and Tatyana Brooks all of W-S, NC, and MaKaiala Sitton of Clemmons, NC; a host of great-grandchildren; one brother, Rev. Otha Bud McManus, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Friday, October 30, 2015 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Samuel Cornelius officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC. The family visitation will be held from 9:30am until 10:00am on Friday at the Church.
