Joseph Henry Harris was born to Robert G. Heilig, Sr. and Cindy Louise Hawkins on August 28, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY.  On December 20, 2017 he was called home to be with the Lord.

Joseph was retired from Simon's Landscaping and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He leaves to cherish his memories his sons, Joseph Marice, Mark and Nathan Harris, and Jarvis Johnson; daughters, Carla Harris and Samantha Johnson; 20 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Oscar Harris, Robert, David, and Charles Heilig; sisters, Eula Mae Porter, Brenda Sims, Deloris Abbitt, and Jonny Mae Damon; 1 brother-in-law; 3 sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, December 28, 2017 at First Waughtown Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Bishop officiating.  The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Thursday at the Church.
