Mr. Joseph Jerome Flowers departed this beautiful life on Monday, November 23, 2020. Mr. Flowers, 62, was born June 25, 1958 to Rosa Dubose Flowers and Paul A. Flowers. Joseph attended school in Winston-Salem Forsyth County. He worked for Royal Cake Company and several other companies during his lifetime.
Joseph was a member of Ambassador For Christ Cathedral. While attending church there, Joseph served on several different auxiliary boards such as the culinary committee and usher board. He enjoyed greeting and serving others.
Joseph was an uncle and father to his nieces and nephews. Joseph was a pleasant person. He loved smiling and making others smile. He tried to be kind to all he knew. Even in Joseph's illness he never ceased to call his brothers and sisters to find out what their day was like. He was always willing to help where he could.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John E. Dubose; and a sister, Ann Dubose Little.
Joseph's wonderful spirit will be remembered by his brother, Mr. Charles Dubose (Karen); four sisters, Mrs. Shirley (Apostle Edward) Allen, Mrs. Jane Penn, Mrs. Pauline (Willis) Allen, Jr., and Mrs. Carolyn (Albert, Jr.) Carson; six nephews, Curtiss Little, Jr., Charleston Dubose, Malcolm (Ashley) Dubose, Michael Allen, Waddell Penn, and Anthony Penn; twelve nieces, Elzora Graves, Pastor Tammy Clark, Mrs. Sheketha (Glenn) Young, Kenya Little, Mrs. Koren (Willie) Bass, Edwina Allen, Mrs. Katrinda (Marcus) Lee, Mrs. Lawandria (Benjamin) Cook, Dr. Casaundria (Norman) Wright, Letia D. Allen, and Barbara L. Carson; his extended family, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Fears, John Mason, Willie J. Mason, Mr. and Mrs. Sampson and Sharon Smalls, and Deacon John Jowers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Monday, November 30, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home.
Private funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
