Joseph Irving Bristo, Jr., affectionately known as "Joe" or "Joey", entered eternal life on Friday, August 10, 2007 doing what he loved, driving his truck. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Joe was born August 10, 1956 as the only child to Joseph I. Bristo, Sr. and Vernelle Drumgold Bristo, both which preceded him in passing. Joe was raised by his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Drumgold and maternal aunts, Beverly Rhodes and Delores Searles, whom also is predeceased. He received his education in the Philadelphia Public Schools and Job Corps.
Joe relocated to the Washington, DC Metropolitan area, where he worked numerous years in the Civil and Family clerk's office for the DC Superior Court. There he met his future wife, Sabrina Williams Morgan. He and Sabrina married February 25, 1989 and had been married 18 years as of his passing.
After some years of marriage, he and Sabrina relocated to Burlington, North Carolina with their son, David. It is here they were welcomed and made home for five years. After some time and much prayer, there was a final relocation to Winston Salem, North Carolina. Winston Salem was where Joe placed his roots and began worshipping at Agape Faith Church. Here, his love for the Lord and praise and worship was nurtured and made stronger.
Joe had an extreme passion for the Lord and began each morning with mediation and Bible study. This time gave him what he needed to take on the day's stresses and dangers. Even when on the road, Joe made time for the Lord. He always knew who watched over and protected him, so he made sure to give God the praise deserved.
Joe leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Sabrina Williams Bristo; their children, Charis Morgan Martin (Anthony), Jordan Paul Morgan, and David Anthony Bristo; two grandsons, Micah Rashaad Morgan and Zion Ahmin Morgan; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Drumgold; his maternal aunt Beverly Rhodes; his paternal aunt Rebecca White; numerous dear cousins, extended family, and a host of friends.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, August 17, 2007 from the Agape Faith Church, 2101 Lewisville-Clemmons Road, Clemmons, NC with Pastor J.B. Whitfield officiating.
