Obituary

Mr. Johnny Davis Walters, Sr., known to many as "Jew Man", was born May 30, 1955 to John Albert and Mattie Mae Collier Walters. He passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was educated in the public schools of Holly Hill, South Carolina. His passion and trade was that of being a family mechanic. He was formerly employed by Landmark.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memories his devoted companion of nineteen years, Shereka Lucille Thompson of the home; five daughters, Angela R. Davis and Tangela M. Davis both of W-S, NC, Terika L. Thompson of Charlotte, NC, Shakira J. Thompson of the home; and Latonya Davidson of Kernersville, NC; one son, Johnny D. Walters, Jr. of the home; two sisters, Linda J. Gethers and Evangelist Gaynell Walters both of Holly Hill, SC; seven brothers, Donald Collier of Brooklyn, NY, Larry Walters of Lexington, NC, Bobby J. Walters of Columbia, SC, Willie (Brenda) Walters and Bruce W. Walters both of Winston-Salem, NC, James (Anita) Walters and Carvin (Debbie) Holman both of Holly Hill, SC; three step-daughters, Tabatha (Eorn) Davis-Jenkins, Marlene Davis, and Jamilah Hairston all of Winston-Salem, NC; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many well loved friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Evangelist Gaynell Walters presiding. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
