Johnny Mack Patrick was born to Byrdia Kilpatrick Stelle and Willie H. Steele on March 18, 1947 in Forsyth County, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Byrdia and Willie divorced and she married Zeke Patrick who adopted Johnny as his son. His left this world on Thursday, June 14, 2018. He lived with his family on 113 North Jackson Avenue in Winston-Salem until he married. He was married several times but only had one child, Johnny Jr. Johnny joined the army and after completion of his tour of duty he was honorably discharged. He worked as a longshoreman in Maryland for many hears and the U.S. Treasury Department. He later drove for Trailways Bus Lines for several years. Johnny was always a jack of all trades and began to do business on his own in various capacities until his retirement.
Those in his immediate family preceding him in death include: his mother, father, step-father and brother Charles Patrick.
Before leaving this world he gave his life to Jesus Christ and professed his love for Jesus in various ways. Johnny had a generous heart and helped many that could not help themselves. I He had a sense of humor and a desire to make people laugh. He will truly be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death and his mother, father, step-father and brother. He leaves behind to cherish his life the following family members and friends: Johnny Patrick Jr., his son, cousin, Calvin Delaney Kilpatrick (Barbara), cousin, Elmira K. Warren, (Ken), cousins: Donnie Currie, Karen Allen, Jana Rivers (Robert), Ebony Monts (Charles), Marcellius (Andrea) and Eleasha Partner. His devoted and supportive friends are to be remembered for standing by him during the good times and the challenging years of his life: James Greenwood and Benjamin Brown. There are additional un named family members and friends who also celebrate his life and home going.
Memorial services will be held at 5:00pm Friday, June 22, 2018 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.
