Our beloved Johnnie Mae Crockett, born September 11, 1952, to Mary Lee Crockett and John Chisolm, departed this life unexpectedly on Sunday, October 4, 2015.
She attended the Forsyth county schools and was employed by Forsyth Court (Independence Village for 15 years after being self-employed doing what she loved and was her "calling", being a home health aide/sitter for the elderly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister; her maternal grandparents, Rosa and Charlie Crockett, Sr.; six cherished aunts, Elizabeth, Maggie, Louis, Rosa, Bertha and Ruth; four uncles, James, John, Sam and Charlie "Bud", Jr.; brother-in-law, Willie H. "Ricky" Harris; nephew, Ricky Harris; and great-niece, Trenisha "Bal Bal" Ross.
Johnnie Mae leaves to cherish loving memories her children, Keschia, Willette, and Willis Crockett; grandchildren, Leonard "Rusty", LeNail "Mel", LeDarrell "Blizz", Leander "Lee Lee", LeKeshia "Lucy", Hykeem, Tytiana, and LaDaysia Crockett; great-grandchildren, LaNiyah, LaDacia, LeDarrell, Jr., LeNaria, LaRiah, Landen, LeDarrius, Ariel, LeKiyah, Leiah, and A'Rianna; sisters, Mary Crockett, Carolyn Harris, Beverly Wall (Reginald), and Ninetta Crockett; devoted nieces and nephews, Autureo Crockett of Washington, DC, Carol, Renee, Tremaine and Jermaine Harris; devoted great-nephews, Raymond "Pee Wee" Harris and Fredrick "Hollaween" Flemming; great-nieces and nephews, Makayla Young, Jermaine "Boogie", Trevon "Turk", Jenishia "Tip" Ross, and Malai Mock; a devoted cousin/"sister", Louise Wright; cousins, Calvin Foxworth of Norfolk, VA and Patricia Cain; devoted friends Loletta Williams, Minister Sharon Pollard, Lorenza Gnash, Marguerita Bowman, and JoAnn Roundtree; nine great-great nieces & nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Greater Cleveland Avenue Christian Church with Bishop Sheldon McCarter officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm Saturday at the Church.
