Mr. John Henry Robinson was born May 29, 1936 to the late Mary Lou Parks-Bruce and Carl G. Robinson in Winston-Salem, NC. He departed his earthly life on Wednesday, July 13, 2011.
At an early age, John moved to New York where he was educated in the public school system. Upon high school graduation, John enlisted in the US Marine Corps. After being discharged from the Marine Corps, John spent his adult life working for the NY Transit Authority and the US Postal Service. John loved his time in New York, but was happy to move back to North Carolina to enjoy his retirement. John found pleasure in spending time at the Winston Lake Family YMCA and in taking pictures.
John was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandmother, Ruby D. Moore;
John leaves to cherish his memories his aunt, Elizabeth Caesar of Winston-Salem, NC; two step-daughters, Selena McNeil and Valeria Payne both of New York; the Parks Family; and a host of extended family and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 1pm Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Saturday at the Chapel.
