Mr. John Frank Miles affectionately known to many as "Big John" & "John Frank" was born April 22, 1959 to the late Nathaniel & Willie Deborah Fuller Miles, Sr. at Kate Bitting Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. John was raised in Walkertown, NC.

John Frank graduated from East Forsyth High School Class of 1977. He then went on to attend Winston Salem State University. After attending WSSU he graduated from Executive Protection Institute in 1996. During his career he was blessed to work for Russell Funeral Home and was the driver for the late Dr. Maya Angelou. John Frank was baptized at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church but later became a faithful member of Union Baptist Church. He served on the Usher Board and was in Deaconship training until his health began to decline.

On November 19, 2016 in the early morning hour God called his child home from labor to reward.

John Frank was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jacquelyn "Jackie" Miles; brother, Nathaniel "Nate/Pete" Miles, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Vicki Miles.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Ferley Singletary Miles; son, Thomas Nolan Puryear; daughter, Jumariya Ridgill; stepchildren, Damont Singletary, Robert (Keyona) Singletary, and Tamika (Dontre) Singletary-Johnson; brothers, Vernell Miles and James (Ellen) Miles; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dewitt (Danielle) Cooper, Jovoda Cooper, Gary (Charmine) Cooper, Troy (Valerie) Cooper, Ennis Miles, and Tara Armstrong; eight step grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Union Baptist Church with Bishop Sir Walter L. Mack, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Church.
