Mr. John Henry May, Sr., 71, was born June 23, 1945 in Darlington, SC to the late Leroy and Leona May. He departed this life on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. He was a retired employee of RJ Reynolds for 30 years.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Deboria Ann May of the home; two sons, John May, Jr. and Stephen May, Sr. of the city; his one and only baby girl, Jonisha Ari May of the home; three grandchildren, DiJon, Bailey, and Stephen May, Jr. of the city; three great-grandchildren, Aubri Hackett of the city, Madison and McKenzie May of the home; his twelve siblings, Theresa (Clarence) McCall of Darlington, SC, Ruby (Tommy) Williamson, Leroy (Olivia) May, Jr., James (Veronica) May, Beatrice (Wilton) Garrison, Pauline (Benjamin) Simmons, Howard May, Terry May, Willie (Adrian) May, Rickey (Tammy) May, Beverly Turner, and Cynthia (Thomas) Hairston all of the city; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Macedonia Worship Center. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
