Deacon John Henry Love, known to some as "Eddie", was born on December 31, 1950 to Mary Brown Love in Winston-Salem, NC.  He later moved to Greensboro, NC for a few years with his mother.  He departed this life on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

He graduated from Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC and attended two years at North Carolina A&T State University. He served in the US Army and had an honorable discharge.  He worked faithfully for 34 years for the City of Winston-Salem as a supervisor of the Benton Convention Center Events Set Up group and retired on October 2, 2012.

He was a faithful member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church for the past 14 years, having served on the Ushers Ministry, member of the Men's Sunday School Class, attended Wednesday Bible Study, and on June 24, 2018 was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Dennis Leach, Sr. where he served faithfully until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his mother and sister, Gloria Love.

He is survived by his wife, Thursal Love; children, Tammy Hooks of Greensboro, NC, twins, Jamal and JaNai Love of Winston-Salem, NC, and Timothy Stanton of Winston-Salem, NC; a host of many grandchildren, many cousins, other relatives, and friends; and his special caregiver, Deacon Carrie Robinson.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Friday, July 28, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, Greensboro, NC. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:00am on Saturday at the Church.
