Obituary

Mr. John Henry Knox passed away Monday, October 29, 2012. He was born on April 17, 1936 to the late Henry and Leronia Knox in Forsyth County.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Knox was preceded in death by three sisters, Mattie Johnson, Laura Thomas, and Leronia "Sallie-Ann" Knox; three brothers, James Knox, Macon Knox, and William Knox; a granddaughter Sabrina Denise Porter; and a sister-in-law, Irene K. Knox.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Annie Mackey Knox; a daughter, Angela Hinson Samuels (Jimmy); four sons, John Henry Knox, Jr. , Malcolm G. Knox (Tracy), Robin L. Knox (Cheryl), and Jonathan G. Knox (Janeia); a sister, Lizzie Anthony; a brother, William "June" Knox; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Ellis Knox and Grace Knox; three brothers-in-law, Franklin Thomas, Willie Lee Mackey, and Frank Mackey; grandchildren, John Knox, Donnie Parker, Aundra Parker, Briana Knox, Christopher Knox, Xavier Knox, and Nicholas Knox; a great-granddaughter, Amira Parker; and a god-son, Charles "Chad" Armstrong, III.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, November 2, 2012 at Saint Philips Moravian Church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12noon until 1pm on Friday at the Church.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Saint Philips Moravian Church in memory of John Henry Knox.
