On December 31, 2023, Mr. John Leecost, IV, entered the eternal rest with Christ. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and received his education in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. He was an alumnus of Anderson High School and a graduate of Guilford Technical Community College in Engineering.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran, a certified general contractor, and a master tradesman. He was an avid fisherman who gathered his friends throughout the year for fishing trips. Along with mentoring other young men through his collaboration with the City of Winston-Salem training young men in construction. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan!
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eloise Leecost; his father, John Anthony Leecost, III; his son, John Anthony Leecost, V; and his sister, Lana Leecost Fisher.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Delores Leecost; his children, Harvey (Melissa) Sutton, Michael Wooten, Kenya Wilson of Oakland, CA, Pamala Gray, Juanita Leecost Danzy, Kimberly Dawkins, Tonya Dawkins, Tara Wooten, and Latisha Taylor of Winston-Salem, NC; 27 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Sheressa Stafford, Teresa (Calvin) Williams, Karen Barnes, Raheem Banks, and Joseph LeCost; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who will cherish his memory.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Monday, January 8, 2024 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Ambassadors Cathedral. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Church.
