Mr. John Calvin Ingram, 56, of 3505 Parrish Rd. was born June 16, 1952 in Forsyth County to parents Jessie M. Ingram and Robert L. Richardson. He passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He attended and graduated from the local public schools and was a Vietnam Conflict Veteran. He attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church at an early age under Pastor W.C. Rogers, when the Rev. Rogers went to pastor Pleasant Abyssinia Baptist Church (Now-Greater Hope of Glory Baptist Church) he followed him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie M. Ingram and Robert L. Richardson and a brother Robert L. (Shaft) Ingram.
He leaves to cherish many loving memories; a son, Kenny Dixon; a spouse and daughter; two grandchildren, including a very devoted brother, Doug (Arnita) Ingram; brothers, Pastors Byron (Cheryl) Ingram of Winston-Salem, NC, Greg Ingram and son of Tampa, Fla., and Earnest Cameron, Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters, Gloria (Mark) Redd, Rita Richardson, Rubenia Richardson, Elaine (Joseph) Barnes, Jr., and Earnestine Cameron all of Winston-Salem, NC; two aunts, Edna (El) Little of Troy, NC and Bernice (Lawrence) Brown of Augusta, Ga.; and an uncle the Rev. James Flake, Sr. of High Point, NC; including a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends, near and far.

John Calvin Ingram was buried in the National VA Cemetery in Salisbury, NC on Thursday, October 2, 2008. A memorial service will be held at Greater Hope of Glory Baptist Church in his honor, Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 2pm.
