Today we lay to rest Mr. John Henry Brown, III. Affectionately, he was known by many as "John John". On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, he chose to take his rest and was received in rest until the last trumpet sounds.

"John John" was born on May 8, 1969 to the late John and Shelma Brown Jr. John was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. John "Dizzy" Brown, Jr. and Mrs. Shelma "Foxy" Brown; and his sister, Charlita "Bonnie" Gladden.

John attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. A few years after school he went to work as a cook until his health began to decline. But you would never know he was ailing as active as he was in his community and with his family and friends. John was a very private person that enjoyed spending time fishing and being with his grands.

He was a husband, father, grandfather and a devoted friend to many. John was always lending a helping hand to anyone he could help.

Mr. John H. Brown, III leaves to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy his daughter, Shenice Danielle Wright; his son, John Henry Brown, IV; his five grandchildren, Raykey Bristol, Zerenity Williams, Hayden Wright, Samyaa Brown, and Jaxx Brown; a sister, Johnnetta H. Brown; one aunt; four nephews and one niece; and a host of loving cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 3:30pm Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel.  The family visitation will be held from 3:00pm until 3:30pm on Friday at the Chapel.
