John Tyler Harris, IV was born to Linda Diane and John Tyler Harris, III on May 5, 1983, and transitioned to be with the Lord on January 16, 2026.
He attended and graduated from Glenn High School in Winston-Salem, NC. He also graduated from Forsyth Technical Community College with a major in computer repairs. John was a kind and giving person to anyone he met. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, father, cousin, and a friend to all.
John worked for Brink Security and previously for R. J. Reynolds and was an all-around security bouncer for several years in the Triad and for Sweepstakes. He also served as security for various music celebrities when they were in town. When he was younger, he played basketball and football and was well known at the recreation centers in Winston-Salem and played for Hoop It Up. John loved sports and his favorite team was the Chicago Bears. He also loved to travel and had traveled overseas.
He grew up in Zion Memorial Baptist Church in Winston-Salem.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Harris, III (April 24, 2025); his grandparents, John Tyler Harris, Sr. and Juanita Harris; and his uncle, Rev. Dr. Michael Robinson (October 16, 2025).
Those who will cherish his memory are his loving mother, Linda Harris; grandmother, Edna Robinson; young daughter, Lena J. Harris (mother, Shaula Brown); his loving and devoted sister, Tarshika Harris; his nephew, Caleb Brown; also cousins, John Clayborn, Jemielle Pitts, Rev. Konnie Robinson, and Rev. Cecil (Laurie) Werts. He is also survived by aunts, Carolyn Harris, Sonia Harris, Antoinette Clayborn, Sandra Robinson, and Rev. Dr. Claire Robinson; uncles, Rev. Sherman (Linda) Robinson and Charles Robinson; and a host of cousins, relatives, friends and loved ones.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00pm Friday, February 13, 2026 at Union Chapel Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00pm on Friday at the Church. Officiants: Senior Pastor Rev. Konnie Robinson, Union Chapel Baptist Church and Eulogist, Rev. Dr. Claire Robinson, Senior Pastor Life Church Worldwide, High Point, NC and General Overseer Life Church Worldwide-Liberia, Africa.
