John Willie Duncan peacefully passed away at Luminis Health Doctors Community Hospital in Lanham, MD on Sunday, May 5, 2024 surrounded by his immediate family.

John was born in Kings Mountain, North Carolina on April 6, 1942. He was born to Maggie McCree and James William Duncan.

John graduated from Winston-Salem State University in 1964 with a bachelor's of science degree in Physical Education. He is a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. John joined the fraternity as a member of the first line at Winston-Salem State.

John retired from the United States Dept. of Agriculture in 2000, where he worked as a Special Assistant for Rural Development.

John is survived by his wife, Norma Duncan; daughter, Kimberly Duncan; grandson, Kameron Jon Duncan; siblings, James Duncan, Alberta Duncan, Mary Hubbard (MD) and Daisy Foster.

John was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lou Ollie Wilson, David Duncan, Genora Ross, Linda Jackson and Charles Duncan.

Memorial services will be held on June 8, 2024 from 1-3 PM at the Anderson Center, located on the campus of Winston-Salem State University. The Anderson Center is located at 1545 Reynolds Park Drive Winston Salem, NC 27110.
