Obituary
Mr. John Davenport, Sr. passed away at the WG (Bill) Hefner Medical Center in Salisbury, NC on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. He was born August 8, 1924 in North Wilkesboro, NC to Simon Theodore and Irene Davenport.
He was a self-employed owner of Davenport's Radio and Television Repair Shop for many years and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church for 55 years.
Mr. Davenport is survived by his wife, Alene Davenport; one son, John Davenport, Jr. (Nia) of W-S, NC; one brother, Simon Leon (Edith) Davenport of W-S, NC; one sister, Sarah Williams of North Wilkesboro, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Saturday, July 20, 2013 at New Bethel Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
