Obituary
Mr. Joe Henry Burts, 61, was born April 20, 1953 in W-S, NC to the late Johnny and Mary Burts. He passed away August 20, 2014.
Mr. Burts attended the WS/FC public schools. He graduated from Atkins High School. He worked at the City of Winston-Salem in the Department of Community and Business Development.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Burts was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Burts; three brothers, John, Robert and Eugene Burts; and one nephew, Rodney Burts.
He leaves to cherish many fond memories, his daughter, Kalli Bunch of Richmond, VA; his son, Jovon Shankle of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, Ernest (Barbara) Burts and James Burts, of W-S, NC; special friend, Ronald Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 3pm Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Kenneth Singletary officiating. The family visitation will be held from 2:30pm until 3pm on Thursday at the Chapel.
