Obituary

Mrs. Joanne Braddy Martin, 58, matriarch of our loving family, was promoted to glory on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Mrs. Martin was born January 19, 1953 to the late Clarence Braddy, Sr. and Rosanna VanLandingham. She attended the local public schools and Forsyth Tech Community College. She was a devoted worker at Legal Aid Society for over 33 years. She was a faithful member of Second Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she was a former member of the Usher Board.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Braddy Sr. and Rosanna Braddy; two sisters, Sharon B. Cain and Pamela Braddy; and one brother, Cedric Braddy, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Jasper Martin; two daughters, Rhonda Spease (Curtis Clark) and Willette Spease (Marc Gray); two sons, Travis (Ericka) Martin and Derrick (Latisha) Spease; twelve grandchildren, Quinshanta, Lottia, Nicole, Nechelle, Ashley, and Diandra Spease, Whitney Mickens, Derrick, Jr. and Daquan Spease, Charlita Samuels, Karisma and Kariza Martin; eleven great-grandchildren, Aniyah Wright, Timothy Davis, Jr., Jamal Bohannon, Jabria, Kamariyonna, Jadasia, and Jonasia Spease, Desire Callands, Karon Ingram, Derrion Spease, and Baby Thomas Brown, Jr., three brothers, Carnell, Clarence, Jr., and Calvin Braddy; three sisters-in-law, Maven (Linwood) Pollard, Catherine Matthews, and Rita Martin; six aunts, Mary (Elmer) Robinson, Louise Ross, Frances (Joel) Cole, Juanita (Roger) Lowery, Pamela Braddy, and Lillie VanLandingham; a host of nieces, great-nieces, nephews, great-nephews, close friends and a best friend in the whole wide world, Mrs. Margaret Moll.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Second Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Donald Stowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Thursday at the Church.
