On Tuesday, March 3, 2009, God came down to take our precious angel, Mrs. Joann Thomas Roseboro of 620 Barbara Jane Avenue. She was born January 10, 1946 in Winston-Salem, NC to Virginia Mae Thomas and Samuel Belcher.
She was employed with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System and retired after 30 years of service.
Spiritually, Joann Roseboro was a dedicated member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for 45 years and she sang for many years on the EBC Chorale. She was also a member of the Reflections Social Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Roseboro; two brothers, Darryl Thomas and Robert Spencer; and one sister, Paula Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Sterling (Jimmie) Lloyd; three grandchildren, Tony L. Roseboro, Sr., Fallon N. Roseboro, and Victor D. McClary; one great-grandson, Tony L. Roseboro, Jr.; one special devoted nephew, Darryl Miller and his daughter, Jade Miller; two sisters, Sandra (Tucker) Gilliam of Baltimore, MD and Winifred Hauser of Winston-Salem, NC; five brothers, John (Deborah) Thomas, Harold (Gwendolyn) Thomas of Winston-Salem, NC, Keith (Michelle) Thomas, Reginald Hauser and Kenneth Hauser all of Baltimore, MD; a special dear friend, Glenda Warren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, March 7, 2009 from the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. John Mendez officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
