Life began for Joann Conrad Bush on December 22, 1962. After an extended illness, she quietly entered heavens gates on Thursday, February 26, 2009.
At an early age, Joann accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at St. Mark Baptist Church. As an adult, she became a member of Macedonia Worship Center. She was a 1981 graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School.
Joann was very passionate about church, family, and the education of youth. "Mrs. Bush" was her affectionate title and she earned it from her many nieces, nephews, friends, and associates. During her sons' involvement in Pop Warner football, Mrs. Bush worked tirelessly for the Winston-Salem Tiny Vikings. To each of her family and friends she was the confidence-inspiring, always-encouraging confidant.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, S.Q. Bush; loving sons, Tory (Brenda) Conrad, S.Q. Bush, III; newly born granddaughter, Alanna Conrad; loving mother, Florence Conrad; a very devoted sister, Tanya Conrad; devoted sisters, Willette Wilson, Jackie, Jannifer, Quanda Conrad, and Millicent Caldwell; loving brothers, Michael (Sylvia), Tyrone, Kenneth, Kevin (Brenda), and Reginald Conrad; stepsons, Eric and S.Q. Bush, III; mother-in law, Blainda McMoore, brothers and sisters-in-laws: Bernard McMoore, William McMoore, Lisa McMoore, Pamela and Linda Bush. Mrs. Bush's loving and precious memories will always remain in the hearts of her many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and many friends including, Ms. Carolyn Thomas, Minister Faith Johnson, Cincinnati, OH, Evangelist Jeanne Pearson, Mrs. Henietta Rattley and god-son, David Reid.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 2, 2009 from the Macedonia Worship Center with Apostle S.D. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the Church. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Palliative Care staff of the J. Paul Sticht Center.
