JoAnn Blackwell aka "Tootsie" was born August 19, 1938 in Reidsville, NC. She departed this life November 1, 2015 at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jo Marshall Blackwell and Annie Jane Fields Blackwell; and sister, Dorothy Giles.

She leaves to cherish her most precious memories 5 children, Aundra Hooper, Randall Hooper, Mitzi Phelps, Gracie Smith (Terry), and Sharaketa Blackwell; 2 sisters, Delores Moyer (Daniel) and Jacqueline McNebb (Marvin); 2 brothers, Junius Blackwell (Clocelton) and Michael Blackwell (Dracy); 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Friday, November 6, 2015 at Phillips Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Friday at the Church.
