Ms. Joan Bishop, known to family and friends as "Peaches" departed this life Tuesday, July 15, 2008 following a period of illness. She was born March 12, 1946 in Winston-Salem, NC to Elizabeth Bishop and Mason Cox.

Left to cherish her memories are a loving and devoted friend, James Whorton; three loving and devoted daughters, Felicia Bishop, Barbra Jean Mauney, and Chinita Bishop (Reggie) Wardlow; two loving granddaughters, Semaya and Paige Wilson; four loving sisters, Betty Bishop Wardlow, Queen (Luther) Davidson, Angelena (Johnnie) Hayes, and Janie Peay; one brother, Coy Bishop; two devoted cousins, Leo and Raeford (Glenndale) Bishop; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2pm Monday, July 21, 2008 from the Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with Bishop Todd Fulton. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Monday at the Church.
