Obituary

Mr. Jimmy "Jimmy Lo" Lomax, Sr. of Airport Road, Winston-Salem, NC made his heavenly transition on November 27, 2021. He was born to Jessie and Lee Anna Lomax on September 16, 1935 in Anson County, NC. "Jimmy Lo" had a passion for life which was expressed through his contagious laugh, infectious smile and unwavering love and support not only for family and friends but for all he encountered.

He was educated in Anson County Schools and retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1987 after 30 years of service. He was also a dedicated member of Solid Rock Baptist Church where he faithfully served on the Usher Board.

He then went on to serve the community as an employee of Beasley Funeral Home where he took pride in comforting families through their loss of loved ones. "Jimmy Lo" pursued his passions through volunteerism, which included serving as a coach for both,  the Twin City Baseball Little League and Pop Warner Football Pfafftown Packers and organizing facility maintenance and resource dissemination for Crisis Control Ministries, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings James Lomax, Margaret Capel, David Lomax, Tennie Mae Smith, Fred Lomax , Lizzie Sturdivant , Jessie Lee Allen and Annie Ruth Spencer.

Those family members left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Delores Lomax; his sisters Ola Mae Johnson and Roberta (Billy) Spencer; his children Jimmy (Ann) Lomax Jr., Michael Lomax, Teresa Lomax, Carey (Tasha) Lomax, Jaime Lomax; his bonus children Tammy Coleman, Cynthia Jones, Robert Bell and Stephania Bell; 25 grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; brothers-n-law Johnny (Gwendolyn) Mackey, Lorenzo Tate; sister-in-law Eva Mae Tate and a host of nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 1:30pm until 5:00pm Friday, December 3, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Waymon Monroe officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC.

The family respectfully requests that guests follow Covid-19 protocol by wearing a mask.
